VERSE:

VERSE: Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shallbelieve on me through their word; That they all may be one; asthou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be onein us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. -- John 17:20-21 http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=John+17:20-21&translation=kjvTHOUGHT: Few things are more precious than knowing that Jesus, on thenight he was betrayed, thought to pray for us! So often, we readthe words of John 17 and study them as a prayer for his apostles inthe upper room. But if we look closely at this passage, we also seethat Jesus prays for us, those who believe on him because of theapostles' testimony. He wants us to be one! He wants us to livewith the same unity, purpose, and character of God that he did. Ifwe do not, then how will the people of the world know that God senthis Son? How will they know what to believe? How will they findJesus as their Savior?PRAYER: Father, forgive us and change us and help us see what is mostimportant in our lives as your disciples. Break down the barriersthat divide us into different religious groups and help us findunity around the things, and the One, that matter most. In Jesus'name I pray. Amen.
