And she shall bring forth a son,

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.Matthew 1:21

Long did the world await His coming. Long did the people of God pine for the promised Seed. Long did we desire the advent of the one who would bring about the kingdom of God. And He has come! And He has risen! Christ came to earth in sinless perfection, lived His life in perfect holiness, gave up perfection to become our sin, and took up perfection once more in His resurrection! Praise the Lord for His salvation all you who believe!

"Clothed with Christ"

"Clothed with Christ" — Colossians 3:12-14
Dear Father,

Grant that we may clothe ourselves with Christ, for he is a garment of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness and patience, forbearance and forgiveness.

Above all, clothe us with his love, which will bind us together in perfect harmony.

In the name of Jesus. Amen.

For thou wilt light my candle:

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.Psalm 18:28
Reflection

The earth is a haven for darkness and the things that lurk and creep. Foul is the world and thick is its shadow. The dim murk of this fallen land threatens all that is living and fair. We would be swallowed and bound in slavery to that dark roiling but that we are become children of light. The Father of Light guides our paths and so our ways become clear. His Son is the Light of the world and the darkness flees from before His glory! Abide in Him, dear believer, and rejoice that you can now see!

He that overcometh,

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.Revelation 3:5

Rejoice, O believer, that your life is bound up in Christ! Rejoice that in His holiness, you are likewise holy! Rejoice that in His eternal glorification, you are likewise glorified! Stand true in your faith, and you shall evermore be clothed in the incorruptible and evermore shall you be given the gift of life eternal.

(For the LORD

(For the LORD thy God [is] a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.Deuteronomy 4:31
Reflection

God in His mercy has promised that He will always be with His children of faith. He remembers His promises and will never break them! What an awesome God we serve!

When thou liest down

When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.Proverbs 3:24
Reflection

When Christ is our life, we have nothing to fear. Our rest can be sweet because we have a God who neither slumbers nor sleeps. And He is always watching over those whom He loves. May you be at peace while trusting in the arms of your Saviour.

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
Reflection

Ours is a life of struggles, of hardship. Daily we feel the earthly futility of that curse brought low upon us by that first sinful act of Adam. Sorrow is the constant companion of all who dwell in the earth. The world is at odds with us and will ever seek to trample us under foot. If the world is against us, then who can possible be for us? Take heart, O believer, for the Lord is with you—and if the Lord is for you, how can anyone possibly stand against you? Christ has overcome the world and even now reigns upon the throne of His heavenly city. Rejoice in your citizenship in the kingdom of God and go boldly into the world proclaiming His peace making men of all tongues to be disciples of Him!

I, [even] I, [am] the LORD;

I, [even] I, [am] the LORD; and beside me [there is] no saviour.Isaiah 43:11
Reflection

The Almighty God alone is our salvation and deliverer from all things! The earth trembles at His presence and the mountains smoke at His touch. He is slow to anger and great in power; for death has been destroyed for eternity! None can compare—and He alone is my Saviour!

Be not afraid

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.Proverbs 3:25-26
Reflection

With Jesus as our confidence, we have nothing to fear. The Lord has command over all things and promises to keep us from being taken out of His hand.

My Prayer: Lord, I thank you for Your love that keeps me securely in Your hands! Help me to depend on You when evil comes to tempt me. Thank You that I have nothing to fear, for You are always with me.

But whosoever

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.John 4:14
Reflection

Never to be thirsty forever! How glorious this revelation! Ever more shall our soul's desires be quenched. God's spirit shall fill us to overflowing and our rest will be made full. Praise God for His mercy and lovingkindness!

And that he would shew

And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that [they are] double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee [less] than thine iniquity [deserveth].Job 11:6
Reflection

How fortunate are we who have embraced the cross by faith! The mercy of the Lord is ever on our side. Through flood and fire, the mercy of the Maker of Heaven will make our road safe—neither righteous wrath nor villainous treachery shall stay our path, for the Lord has made it sure against such opposition. Rejoice that your way to heaven is guarded, O believer!

The LORD will perfect

The LORD will perfect [that which] concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.Psalm 138:8
Reflection

Absolutely everything that concerns His children is under His control! What an amazing comfort! For He is faithful to accomplish every good work within His people. He will never forsake us, but He will hold us in His right hand forever!

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my countenance, and my God. (Psalms 42:11)
My Prayer: Gracious Father, thank You for being my ever-present help in my time of need. You lift my countenance and fill my heart with everlasting delight and tranquility. Your greatness is unsearchable! Your love so unfathomable! May Your Name be lifted on high and praised forevermore!

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Thy word [is] true [from] the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments [endureth] for ever. (Psalms 119:160)
Never doubt, O people of the Lord, the veracity of His word for it bears His own mark and will ever reveal His plan for your redemption. Every assurance is granted you in His word and can be relied upon without fail! Rejoice in His abounding grace and unceasing truth! He is the way. He is the truth. He is your life. And He is your very soul's blood! Rejoice in Him! Sing, "Hallelujah!" and praise His name forever!

And this is the record,

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.1 John 5:11
Reflection

My Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for Your magnificent gift of eternal life. Thank you for sending Your Son to pay the penalty for our sins. We praise You for this wonderful gift that You have given to us, Your undeserving people!

For this God [is]

For this God [is] our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death. (Psalms 48:14)
Indeed, all the earth knows of His righteousness and is filled with His amazing glory! All His splendor and might exceeds all imagination. Such is our God. And He will guide us into His everlasting glory!

Because he hath

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.Psalm 91:14
Reflection

God will protect His own. Love is the avenue in which we can minister to God and we can recognize who He is by acknowledging His name. At the same time it is God who rescues us and lifts us up higher than the dangers at hand.

[[A Song of degrees.]]

[[A Song of degrees.]] They that trust in the LORD [shall be] as mount Zion, [which] cannot be removed, [but] abideth for ever.Psalm 125:1
Reflection

Take courage, O child of the Redeemer, for like Mount Zion, you are immovable in the Lord's strength! Why? Simply because, as all of Christ's gathered lambs, you have already come to His heavenly mount (Hebrews 12) and are already citizens of His heavenly city (Philippians 3:20). By faith we have come to such a place and so, by faith we are made immovable! Rejoice in your strength, and so, live as pleasing to the Lord!

[[To the chief Musician

[[To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.]] God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; (Psalms 46:1-2)
So strong is our victorious Lord that ever more can we, His people, trust in His promise to protect us. Fear not, O believer, for even now is the kingdom of God visible by your faith! Take up your heavenly reign! Rejoice in your seat at the Father's throne! God will be your sturdy defense and never will the enemy's darts pierce your hide, so go forth proclaiming the Lord's victory in boldness.

And I will sow

And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to [them which were] not my people, Thou [art] my people; and they shall say, [Thou art] my God.Hosea 2:23
Reflection

When once dead to all the things of life and love and godliness, the Lord, in His unfathomable mercy, wrested us from our bed of dust and ash and breathed His spirit of new life into us! We were not His people. We were not His children. We were, in spite of His holy righteousness, the very enemies of His hand. How gracious is He to have awakened His foemen to risen life as His own servants! We are His people! We are His children! Rejoice, O believer! Rejoice in your Lord of mercy and kindness.

After these things

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I [am] thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward.Genesis 15:1
Reflection

When God appeared to Abraham, He told him not to fear. God was both his shield and his reward! Abraham had just taken spoil from his recent victory, yet God declared that the real reward is found in the greatness of God, Himself. As He was to Abraham, so God will also be our unfailing protection and our great reward.

He that believeth

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet [given]; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)John 7:38-39
Reflection

God's children are bound to pour forth rivers of the water of life. In the wilderness, Moses brought forth water from a rock. Paul says that rock was symbolic of Christ. Just as Christ, the rock of our foundation, pours forth the water of life, so too shall we as His bride pour forth the same water! And this water is the very Spirit of God, who moves among men as He wills to forward the kingdom of heaven. Amen.

But as many as received him,

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:John 1:12
Reflection

The right to become God's own children! Halleluiah! How blessed are we who believe! To become children of God's right hand, adopted into everlasting glory, is such a wondrous act of mercy that we can only respond with praise never-ceasing! Holy, holy, holy is our Lord! Hallelujah! Rejoice!

But of him

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:1 Corinthians 1:30
Reflection

God is the one who chose us from the foundation of the world. He chose us as the foolish things of the world so that, in Christ, His wisdom would be declared. Christ has become our divine wisdom, which is our righteousness, holiness, and our redemption. Though we might be of little value in the world's eyes, we are of the vastest worth in God's eyes—for it was Christ Himself who gave His life to redeem us.

Nevertheless

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.2 Peter 3:13
Reflection

We as believers have a hope and a promise from God that there will be a new heaven and a new earth, which is the home of the righteous! These mortal things will soon pass! We merely await His glorious return! Let us cry with a great hope: "Come quickly O Lord!"

The LORD upholdeth

The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all [those that be] bowed down. (Psalms 145:14)
Ever is the Lord faithful to strengthen those of His who are wounded and bolster His children who are weighed down. His might is become our might. His sovereignty lifts our head in troubling times. Look to Him for your rest and comfort and ever shall you find it!

For ye shall

For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel [will be] your rereward. (Isaiah 52:12)
Never need the bride of Christ, when arrayed in her battledress, proceed anxiously to meet the enemy. Nor shall she flee from villainous hoards, defeated and brought low. She is the queen of God's right hand and ever shall He protect her comings and goings, guarding her both before and behind, and ever granting her sword arm the full measure of His omnipotent strength. Rejoice in the Lord! Rejoice in your strength!

But of him

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1 Corinthians 1:30)
"All we have we have from God as the fountain, and in and through Christ as the channel of conveyance. He is made of God to us all we need, or can desire. We are foolishness, ignorant and blind in the things of God, with all our boasted knowledge; and He is made wisdom to us. We are guilty, obnoxious to justice; and He is made righteousness, our great atonement and sacrifice. We are depraved and corrupt; and He is made sanctification, the spring of our spiritual life; from him, the head, it is communicated to all the members of his mystical body by his Holy Spirit. We are in bonds, and he is made redemption to us, our Saviour and deliverer."
—Matthew Henry

In all thy ways

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.Proverbs 3:6
Reflection

We must not simply believe that there is an all-powerful God, but we must also live a life of confidence in this hope. We must continually ask for His perfect guidance and immeasurable wisdom throughout our time on this earth. As Christians, we have a distinct honour: if we call upon His great name, He will make our paths straight. If we place ourselves to be under His wonderful direction, we will always benefit from His great kindness and goodness. What a wonderful promise to enjoy!

Abide in me,

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:4-5)
We cannot do anything without the Lord. He is the vine; and just as the branches receive their life-giving nutrients through the vine, so we as Christians receive the things we need for life from Christ. When a branch is apart from its source of life, it is dead. And so it is with us—until we are grafted onto that eternal and life-giving vine of Christ. We abide in Christ by our faith in Him and the salvation he offers. By this faith, even we shall bear fruit.

Therefore if any man

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
How beautiful it is to be found in Christ Jesus! Our natures of corruption and villainy are done away with and recreated both new and perfected. Let all praise and honour go to His majestic greatness for all His splendid works!

For our conversation

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (Philippians 3:20)
More than the temporal citizenship offered by the world, we are made inheritors of a heavenly citizenship. Paul wrote this to a church in the midst of a Roman colony who took great pride in their Roman citizenship. Yet the importance is not the location of our present dwelling, but our future heavenly home where we will see all His splendor with eyes unclouded and we shall surely worship Him. Thus, we eagerly await our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

For if

For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children [shall find] compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God [is] gracious and merciful, and will not turn away [his] face from you, if ye return unto him.2 Chronicles 30:9
Reflection

This verse simply states the wonderful character of the God we serve. He is abounding in grace and compassion as He is faithful to never leave His children. Could there be any better promise? To consider the gracious nature of our God only causes us to rejoice and praise His magnificent name!

For the LORD

For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.Psalm 37:28
Reflection
Eternal is the abundant life of God's people! Praise God forever! We shall be preserved and we shall delight in glorifying God unto everlasting! Hallelujah! Fear no rejection for you are His and all things are bound together for your good. Trust in the incredible love of the Lord and proceed in that same love to preach this gospel of preservation to the ripened fields of the lost!

Remember,

Remember, our level of gratitude will determine our altitude in God. He who thanks God positions himself for the next miracle. Look at what Psalm 100 says " On your feet now - applaud God. Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into His presence. Know this, God is God, and God, GOD. He made us; we didn't make Him. We are His people, His well-tended sheep. Enter with this password: "Thank you". Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank Him. Worship Him. For God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever." (The Message Bible)

Agree with me in prayer:-

Lord, today, we just want to say thank you for all that you have done for us. You have done so much that we don't even know where to start to thank you. Thank you for your plans for us. We agree with the Psalmist, "How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand" (Psalm 139:17-18). I thank you today for your loving kindness, your tender mercies and your faithfulness towards me. Create in me a heart of gratitude that I may always remember to thank you. Amen.

May your heart be full of thanksgiving in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Blessed [are] they

Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.Matthew 5:6
Reflection
Your hunger shall be filled. Your thirst shall be quenched. Ever shall the child of righteousness be sated for the Lamb is his food and his drink. Christ is the living manna and the living water. The Christian feasts upon His body, broken for us, and His blood, shed for our sake. So go, O believer, in the power of the cross! Go forth and proclaim His life to all the nations until He comes again, that they too might taste the fullness of righteousness!

God [is] not a man,

God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?Numbers 23:19
Reflection
God is ever worthy of our trust. He is unchanging and uncompromising. His promises will always be kept and He shall always stand true to His word. Every promise shall find fulfilment in you who are Christ's workmanship. Rejoice therefore in Him and be filled!

For this we

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18)
Behold! For Christ comes a new! His promised return is the final hope for His church. In spite of the suffering we are bound to experience through these tumultuous last days, we share in a hope promised since long ago—as Christ ascended to heaven, He will certainly return. He will return in glory to lead the church victorious over the forces of darkness. We shall all be changed! No more shall the church suffer in Christ's name! Rather she shall glory in victory in Christ's name!

He only [is] my rock

He only [is] my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall [shall ye be, and as] a tottering fence. They only consult to cast [him] down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation [is] from him. He only [is] my rock and my salvation: [he is] my defence; I shall not be moved. In God [is] my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, [and] my refuge, [is] in God. (Psalms 62:2-7)
Because of our incredible salvation in Christ, we can depend upon Him in times of turmoil and suffering. He alone is our refuge and strength as our soul silently waits in great expectation for His

And shewing mercy

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.Exodus 20:6
Reflection
God promises mercy to those who keep His holy commands, yet what man could ever see this promised mercy? Only one. Only One. Only Christ. And by His love for us, we too see God's mercy. Christ's infinitely valuable obedience bought mercy for all those who would seek it. Praise our Lord and Saviour for our bountiful access to His saving mercy!

And, behold,

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.Revelation 22:12

The end is near! The time of our final victory in Christ is upon us! He is coming soon and with His coming, the doom of sin, the doom of evil, and the doom of death itself! Praise be! Praise be! Praise be!

Teaching them

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.Matthew 28:20

Jesus promised that He will always be with us, even to the end of the age. We as Christians have Christ as our authority and comfort. He is the Emmanuel (the God who came to earth to live with us) and though He has ascended to the Father, even so, He remains to live with us.

Ye also,

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5)
O believers, take joy in the great honour bestowed upon you by the Lord Himself! Not only has He made you His son, pure and undefiled, but He has counted you worthy to be built together with your fellow saints and Christ Himself to be the very temple to house His Spirit. What a blessing it is to be the object of such a gift! Praise be to the Lord Almighty who has made us into living stones to take special and essential part in His sovereign plan!

Cast thy burden

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalms 55:22)
Trust in the Lord, O son of righteousness, for He is worthy of your esteem. He is infinitely capable of caring for your needs and will always work even the most difficult of situations for benefit. Cast all your cares upon Him for He will be faithful to deliver you. Stand ever in your righteous hope in Christ and you shall not be moved.

As many as I love,

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. (Revelation 3:19)
Praise be to our ever-loving Father that He will always be faithful to chasten His children to correction. His discipline is of a caring love toward us—it is for our benefit, gracious and merciful. The Lord wants what is best for us and kindly prompts us to return to Him. Praise the Lord for His involvement.

And he said unto me,

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
God's grace is greater than our weakness. When we admit our weaknesses then more of Christ's strength can be manifested in us. We are used more when we are made less.

HUGZ

Good morning, most times i just post The Word and keep it moving, but today God has laid on my heart to share with you. So here goes...last Frday i went out, I had a little lunch and was going across the street to the bank. I got outside and suddenly felt like I was going to pass out, everything looked like it was covered in a bright white light. I tried to get it together but could not. we got in the cab the feeling seemed to diminish and so I again attempted to go to the bank the cab stopped on the corner in front of the bank ,again I was hit with feeling like I would pass out and that white light. so i got to my building but could not walk , my neighbor had to roll me to the building and put me on the elevator, once in the house I started to feel a little better.Monday I went to my Dr. who sent me to the hospital ER, so I go hand the nurse the prescription and I am rushed to the back.I look up and there are 6 Drs. standing around me, there's 2 nurse in attendance, I've pick lines IVs in both arms, I am now a little concerned no one has yet to tell me what's wrong. So I start tasking God what's up with this , He is not answering but I'm not worried and I'm no longer fearful, that was until the 3 Drs. from ICU showed up...LOL They said " we are here to evaluate you"I'm thinking for what? I did not apply for a job. I said to myself whatever I'm not claiming any of this,me and Jesus are just going to ride the storm.....and we did
Upon reflection I know why God didn't answer ,He had already given me everything I needed ..HIS PROMISE< HIS WORD and HIS SON....
HE PROMISED HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE ME NOR FORSAKE ME...Heb 13 v 5-7., so I was never alone.
HE SAID " BY HIS STRIPES I AM HEALED" Isaiah 53 v 5, so whatever the matter I am already healed....
THE WORD SAY'S " Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life," Psalms 23
They did all these tests and ,Wed they presented me with the findings .
1. They say I have an enlarged heart
2. They say I have a nodule on my left lung, which is obstructing my breathing
3. They say I cannot have the needed surgery on my knee as I would die on the table. That's what they say.
God created doctors for a reason,I am going to do the steps they advise, however I believe one report and that is The Living Word of God
God has given you a promise as well. He said in Jeremiah 29:11 He has plans “‘to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Are you letting things you believe are more powerful than you hold you back from accepting God’s promise for you?
Or are you like Caleb, one of the two spies who weren’t afraid? He too saw the strong men in the land and their fortified cities. But he trusted God. His report to Moses and all Israel was, “‘We can certainly do it’” (v. 30). The Fire Bible: Global Study Edition states it this way in the note for Numbers 14:6: “Faithful believers must be willing to stand on God’s Word.”
“Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him." 1 Kings 18:21
MY QUESTION TO YOU TODAY ...IS WHO'S REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE????
FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE ARE STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD, CLAIMING AND RECEIVING VICTORY IN EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES AND OVER EVERY SITUATION.......................HALLELUJAH
I PRAY YOU DO THE SAME...NO MATTER HOW YOU FEEL OR HOW IT LOOKS......TRUST HIM, FOR WE SERVE A GOD THAT CANNOT LIE AND DOES NOT FAIL.....let God be found true, though every man be found a liar,Romans 3 v 4........

O love the LORD,

O love the LORD, all ye his saints: [for] the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.Psalm 31:23

His strength is beyond imagining and with it He promises to preserve His children ever in their faith! None may snatch you from His hand, O child of the Lamb, for He is adamant: you are His and His alone! Love Him, therefore, and follow Him all your days!

[When] the poor

[When] the poor and needy seek water, and [there is] none, [and] their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.Isaiah 41:17
Reflection
Ever is the Lord gracious and ever does He shower mercy unfettered upon the objects of His affection. Because we know that God loves us, we may take pleasure in the great knowledge that He will surely stand by us in our hour of need. Ever is the Lord the provider of our necessities and ever will He quench our thirst with the welcome vials of living water—even the life of Christ.

For the LORD

For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.Psalm 149:4

Reflection

My Prayer: Thank You, O God that You delight in us, Your people. Thank You for Your reign of love. Thank You for taking pleasure in Your people, for giving us hearts to serve, for prospering us by Your Spirit, for communing with us by Your means of grace, and for communicating to us Your favour and good pleasure. Thank You for preparing us for Your future glory!

For thou, Lord,

For thou, Lord, [art] good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.Psalm 86:5
Reflection
The Lord is full of mercy and willing to forgive us! He never rejects us when we ask for His forgiveness. This outpouring of mercy and love should make us desire to follow Him more faithful
Prayer: Jesus, I do not deserve Your love or mercy, but I praise and thank You for them both! Thank You for hearing us when we call to You.

[He is] near

[He is] near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who [is] mine adversary? let him come near to me.Isaiah 50:8

Who can stand before the might of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah? None. Who can thwart the plans of the very Creator of the Heavens? None. And who could steal a single child from the hand of the conquering Lamb Himself? Why none at all! There is no foe so great or force so terrifying as to hold any sway over the Son of God! Take comfort in the strength of His arm and know to a certainty that if He is for you, then, truly, none can be against you (cf. Romans 8:31).

Jesus answered

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.Matthew 21:21

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! With the Lord of all sovereignty behind us, we can be confident that He will ever enable us to accomplish His will.
My Prayer: Help me, Lord, to grow in faith! I thank You for granting us Your power to trust ever more deeply in You!

Notwithstanding the Lord

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and [that] all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
2 Timothy 4:17
When it comes time for us to proclaim the gospel, we can stand in the Lord's strength and He will be right by our side the whole time. Be bold, O believer! Take your strength in the almighty arm of your Father, O child of heaven!

"Freedom Is No Excuse for Sin"

"Freedom Is No Excuse for Sin" — Galatians 5:13-15
Dear Father, guardian of the free,
May we never use freedom as a pretext for evil or as an excuse for indulging sinful desires.
Rather, grant that we, out of love, will make ourselves servants to one another. For the Lord has taught us that the whole law is fulfilled in the one saying, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Keep us from "biting" and "devouring" one another, lest we be consumed by one another. Encourage and enable me and all my brothers and sisters in Christ to live by love, your principle of freedom.
In the name of Jesus I ask you to preserve my faith in freedom and love. Amen.

Praying with Paul is available in a very attractive book that may be ordered directly from Eldon Degge.

The LORD

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee [is] mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17
How incredible to know the Lord so delights in His children! How wonderful to know that we, the people of His hand, are a pleasure to Him! Rejoice in the Lord's rejoicing in you! Delight in the Lord's delighting in you! Exalt your God all you people and know that He is well-pleased to have you as His own!

For every creature of God

For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1Timothy 4:4-5
All things created by God are good beyond questioning and He gives to us out of His bountiful mercy! Let us receive His gifts gladly with thanksgiving and consecrate them through prayer.

but if

VERSE: But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. -- Matthew 6:15 THOUGHT: Can you think of a more frightening thought than God not forgiving our sins? We know how much he paid so our sins could be forgiven! We know how much he loves us! We know how much he wants us to be in relationship with him! So why would he withhold his forgiveness? Because we demonstrate that we have not received it or do not understand it! God is gracious and he will not accept those who are not gracious! PRAYER: Holy God, there are those that I do find it difficult to forgive. Please, right now while I'm praying, soften my heart by your Spirit, cleanse my soul of any bitterness or resentment, and please empower me to let go of the pain of the past and forgive. I thank you for this grace to not only be forgiven, but to also forgive. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

More Reflections on Obedience

More Reflections on Obedience by God's Grace
Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?…Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God. (Galatians 3:3 and 2 Corinthians 3:5)
Once again, let's reflect on previously studied passages that show how obedience to God is related to His grace. Galatians 3:3 fits in this helpful category.

Our beginning with God was brought about by the work of His Spirit. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit" (Titus 3:5). We humbly admitted our sins, casting ourselves upon the mercy of God. The Holy Spirit brought us new birth, new life. This work of the Spirit is linked to the grace of God later in this same sentence: "that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life" (Titus 3:7). Thus, starting out with God is related to His Spirit applying His grace to our need.

Now, having experienced spiritual birth by the Spirit (by grace), would we be so foolish as to think that we could be spiritually developed by the flesh (by mere human activity)? "Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?" The only way that spiritual growth can follow spiritual birth is by the work of the Holy Spirit (that is, by the grace of God continuing to impact our lives). These same terms are the only explanation for the development of obedience in the life of a child of God. It must come from the Spirit applying grace to our hearts. "It is good that the heart be established by grace" (Hebrews 13:9).

2 Corinthians 3:5 is another passage that carries this same message about obedience. "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God." We are hereby reminded that Christians are not the source of any godliness that is to develop in their lives. This would include obedience. We do not have within our own resources what it takes to produce an obedient life. Yet, we do have available to us daily all that we need to grow in pleasing God and doing His will. God is to be our source always for all things spiritual. How do we draw upon His comprehensive sufficiency? Humbly depend upon Him. God pours grace into the humble heart (James 4:6), and faith accesses grace (Romans 5:2).

Heavenly Father, would You develop obedience in me the same way You brought new life to me—by Your Spirit, by Your grace. I again confess my need for Your sufficient resources for growing in obedience, and I rely on You, Amen.

Blessed [are] they

Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:10)
May all believers take great heart in this amazing promise of joy and glory! Just as our Lord was persecuted, so we will be persecuted. It is a guarantee! However, we suffer with the knowledge of the beautiful hope of inheriting the kingdom of heaven and residing with our heavenly Father in all His glory. To consider His greatness only causes us to sing of His righteousness!

And now, little children,

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (1 John 2:28)
How sweet and refreshing is the promise of eternal life! It is the beautiful promise of worshipping our Creator and simply being with our Saviour for all eternity. Abiding closely with Him in this life allows us to have full confidence in our salvation when God calls His children home. May our faith in Christ be steadfast and strong that we may know Him well on the day of His return!

Blessed [is] the man

Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12)
The crown of life is a promise that God grants to those who love Him. Though we endure tremendous trials and tribulations, we will not be crushed. Our suffering will end in the glory of Jesus Christ and we will receive the crown of life. What a beautiful ending for this life! May God be glorified in our daily trials. May we seek His face and continue to be molded into His perfect image.

Now therefore,

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine: (Exodus 19:5)
Once we have placed our faith in Christ, we are exhorted to follow His commands and allow Him to rule in our lives. From that moment, we are considered God's own possession and treasure. There is tremendous hope and peace in the promise to be called "a particular treasure" for the Almighty King who is lacking in nothing. How amazing is His gracious lovingkindness toward us!

For he that

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:8-9)
If we sow the things of the flesh (that is, the things of sin), then we will reap eternal punishment; but if we sow the things of the Spirit (that is, the things of God), then we will reap eternal happiness and joy! As we sow the things of God and cultivate them we must keep pressing on. It may seem that our work is worthless, but in the end, we will reap eternal life with God. For what better harvest could we hope?

Elect according

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, (1 Peter 1:2-4)
From the foundation of the world, God foreknew His children and began to sanctify them through the precious blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. By the stripes of our Lord, we are given the gift of eternal life with all the joy and peace it could possibly present. By His infinite love and mercy, we are promised an inheritance that will never be lost or destroyed. For those who believe, we have been set apart by this remarkable hope of everlasting life with Christ.

For this God [is]

For this God [is] our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death. (Psalms 48:14)
When the storms of life assail us and we feel as though lost at sea, take heart, O Christian, take heart! Our Lord will never fail to lead us in the paths of righteousness, conforming us daily to the pure, holy, and loving image of His very Son, Christ our saviour!

Thy throne,

Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom [is] a right sceptre.Psalm 45:6
The Lord is righteous and just; His kingdom will never end!
My Prayer: O Lord, I praise You! Thank you for being faithful even when I am faithless! Thank you for allowing me into Your everlasting kingdom. Keep my wandering heart close to You.Amen

Yea, the LORD

Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:Joel 2:19

In the end. After all the tumult of history is passed. After the suffering of the church is complete. It is then that God promises to exalt His people to the consummation of their full glory! Truly we await that day with all the yearning of our being, crying out with our whole hearts: "How long, O Lord? How long?" The answer, beloved, should keep us well: "Not long, dear children. Not long." Amen and amen.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

This is for all those who are mother's or stand in the gap:

For all that you have given me,
I can return but love. For you
Bound up the wounds I did not see
And gave me hopes and passions new.
I can return but love for you,
Whose unmoved faith my heart did move,
And gave me hopes and passions new,
And loved me till I turned to love.

Whose unmoved faith did my heart move?
The mother of my heart, not blood,
Who loved me till I turned to love.
And I became the soul I would.

The mother of my heart, not blood,
Bound up the wounds I did not see.
And I became the soul I would
For all that you have given me.

They shall

They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. (Isaiah 49:10)
God's people have been restored to resurrection life! No longer do we hunger or thirst for we feast upon the bread of life and drink freely of the river of life! No longer do we wander afflicted in desolate wilderness for we have entered in to edenic and heavenly rest! Ever will the Lord lead us into righteousness for He has granted us the promise of His Spirit who will guide us into every good work! Praise the Lord for His restoration! Praise the Lord for His gift of new life!

And Jesus

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]. (Mark 11:22-24)
The incredible strength and majesty of our God! He has the might to move mountains and does so through even our smallest faith. When we place our trust in Him, He molds us as He gives us the desires of our hearts.

I WILL

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.Psalm 32:8
God promises to instruct His children into every righteous path. He sent us His very Spirit to guide us in His ways. God cares for us beyond measure imaginable and His Spirit will be faithful to illuminate the glorious treasures of His truth. Ask God to teach you. Ask God to make you teachable. He shall faithfully do both! And by your growth God will use you to edify others in the body of Christ!

The LORD also will

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. (Psalms 9:9)
My prayer: Lord teach me to trust in you in my times of happiness and sorrow, in my struggles and triumphs. Lord, help me to have blind faith so I can walk on water and move mountains. I thank You for your faithfulness to those who seek You.

But now thus saith the LORD

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called [thee] by thy name; thou [art] mine. (Isaiah 43:1)
O church, remember that Christ is the fulfilment of Israel and the seed of Abraham so long awaited by God's people. And recall that you are His bride! His redemption is your redemption! And even as He bears the name of God, so do you bear His own name! He is Christ and you are His Christians! Having been cleansed and made righteous by His blood, you are now counted worthy the honour of bearing the name above all names! Wonder of wonders—take joy, O bride of the Lamb!

But he said,

But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it. (Luke 11:28)
Praises everlasting for that most wondrous of gifts: a man who could hear the word of God and keep it! Sing thanks unto the Lord that by His Son's obedience to God's holy law, even unto death, the eternal blessings of the Lord might now fall upon His people. How fortunate are we become, those who serve the Lord in the faith of righteousness! Rejoice, O people, and sing evermore His mighty praise.

For his anger

For his anger [endureth but] a moment; in his favour [is] life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy [cometh] in the morning. (Psalms 30:5)
You may weep and you may mourn over the troubles of this life, but know this you believers: your weeping will last only a night—for the smallest portion of your life. Once your joy is restored, those times of sadness and despair will seem only the briefest of moments. This life can be seen as a time of weeping; but when compared with the joy of eternity, our suffering seems slight and insignificant indeed. Praise the Lord that He is soon coming!

And they said,

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.Acts 16:31

The promise of salvation is a gift to the ones that believe on Christ. The Philippian jailor wanted to know how he could possibly be saved and the response from Paul and Silas was simple: believe on the Lord Jesus Christ unto salvation. And so it is! Our very eternal lives rest on the simplest of things—our belief in Christ's power to save us! Rejoice in such things as they are cause for much joy!

Healing Prayers

Healing Prayers

These prayers are meant to be a Road Map for you. Healing Prayers will help you as you pray for yourself or a loved one. Praying God's Word back to Him is a great way to pray. Those mentioned here thus focus on the Word. Let us give God back His Word.
Healing Prayer - 1

Father in this prayers, I am quoting back to you Exodus 15:26. Lord you declared that "And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee." Father, I am doing my best in obeying your commandment by grace, help me to trust you for healing. God remove this disease from me I pray in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Father, You say in Your Word that healing is the Childrens bread. I desire this bread in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Let these healing Prayers not be in vain in Jesus Mighty Name,Amen.
Healing Prayer - 2

Father, You say in Exodus 23:25 that "Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee." Father, destroy all the idols in my life that I am consciously or unconciously bowing to. Refresh my focus and my desire to serve you. Father you say that you will take away sickness from us, God, do it for me in Jesus Mighty Name,Amen.
Healing Prayer - 3

Father, You have written in Your Word "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." Acts 10:38. God please send an annointed servant to lay hands on me and let me recover in Jesus Mighty Name,Amen. Father, I curse the root cause of this disease and declare that your healing virtue flows through me in Jesus Powerful Name, Amen.

For I the LORD

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. (Isaiah 41:13)
My Prayer: Lord help me to trust in You when I'm scared—when I'm afraid of what people might think of me when I tell them about You and Your good news. Thank You Lord, for being right by my side, holding my hand, and strengthening me for every good work.

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 5:8-9

By the gracious salvation in Christ, we are separated from the dark as His light shines through us. This separation changes our destination from eternal condemnation to everlasting joy and peace. This magnificent hope for all followers of Christ causes us to rejoice in the glorious splendour of His majesty.

But the meek

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.Psalm 37:11

The Lord shall not forsake His promise to His saints! Indeed shall they inherit their heavenly land. Even as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob proclaimed themselves strangers upon the earth while they looked forward to the heavenly city of promise, so too do we rest in our hope of future glory. Even now we are citizens of the great and holy Zion. Yes citizens, but ambassadors in a foreign land. Ambassadors for Christ! Yet soon and forever we shall bask in the full weight of the brightness of the glory of Christ! We only await His return in glory! Come quickly Lord Jesus! Amen!

For the preaching of the cross

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18

Thank you Lord that "all the valued learning of this world is confounded, baffled, and eclipsed, by the Christian revelation and the glorious triumphs of the cross."
—Matthew Henry

For unto us a child is born,

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)
By the miraculous coming of Christ, the kingdom of God was brought to man bestowing all His incredible peace and joy. His dominion shall never fade but continue to increase in all its glory and magnificence. Simply the establishment of His kingdom will proclaim righteousness and justice forevermore! Indeed, He is great and greatly to be praised!

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. (Romans 8:29-30)
God chose those who would believe from the foundations of the world to be justified and glorified according to His purpose. Because God foreknew all things, there is nothing that can separate His children from His excellent love and grace. Even as evil powers come against us, we are made conquerors by the justification and glorification through the blood of Christ!

Blessed [are] they which

Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6)
Try as we might, there is no human satisfaction to be found in earthly things. No created thing can hope to fill us, to complete us. For all created things are finite in their very nature. Yet our longing for satisfaction is infinite and therefore can only be filled by One infinite in nature. The righteous are those who are filled by the Spirit of God—they are, therefore, satisfied.

And it shall come to pass,

And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Acts 2:21)
How beautiful! How simple! Amazingly, God pours forth all His mercy, love and great blessings to those who call upon His majestic name. By placing all faith in Christ, the believer is given the ultimate promise: glorious eternity with his Creator and Saviour. This demands praise and rejoicing to the Most High God. For He is worthy.

Even More on the Resurrection and Sanctification

Even More on the Resurrection and Sanctification
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. (Philippians 3:10)
Paul's all-consuming passion was "that I may know Him." This verse does not list four matters for which Paul sought an acquaintanceship (a knowledge of God, resurrection power, a fellowship in Christ's sufferings, and conformity to His death). Rather, it points out one great quest (a knowledge of God) and three different arenas in which that knowledge could grow (resurrection power, a fellowship in Christ's sufferings, and conformity to His death). We saw in our last meditation how resurrection power and suffering can increase our knowing of the Lord. Now, we add another amazing aspect to a growing acquaintanceship with Jesus: "being conformed to His death."

There were some unique aspects to the death of Christ upon the cross (for example, His atonement for sins). However, there were other aspects of His death that God wants to repeat in our lives. As Jesus was placed upon the cross, it looked like defeat. It seemed to be the greatest wrong that man could ever do. Yet, God was working out His sovereign purposes. "Him, being delivered by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death" (Acts 2:23). At times, we are placed in situations that seem certain to lead to a deadly defeat. Yet, the Lord is unfolding His sovereign plan for us. In taking us through such impossibilities (and turning apparent defeat into victory), the Lord is allowing us to become more acquainted with Him and His ways.

When Jesus was dying, He hung helpless upon the tree. He entrusted Himself into the hands of His Father. "Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit" (Luke 23:46). The Father would have to prove faithful, if Jesus were to come forth from the grave. "Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father" (Romans 6:4). At times, we are in circumstances that are personally crucifying. We are in situations where everything so obviously requires a mighty work of God. If He does not prove faithful on our behalf, there will be no way out of the agonizing dilemma. When our Lord is so clearly our only hope (and then He comes through faithfully), we again grow in a deeper knowledge of Him and His ways.

Dear Father of glory, help me to not shrink back in fear and doubt when You are conforming me to the death of Your Son. When everything looks like defeat and disaster, remind me to look to You to work out Your will, in spite of the evil intentions of foolish or godless people. When I am hanging helpless in the midst of crucifying circumstances, remind me to commit myself to You and Your great faithfulness. Lord, I want to know You more through any means You choose, Amen.

GENUINE SPIRITUALITY

GENUINE SPIRITUALITY

1 Corinthians 3:1-7

Dear Father, growth-giving God,

Help me to be a genuinely spiritual person in Christ. Let me grow
beyond having to be fed like a baby on soft food and milk. May I
strive for maturity so I will be able to digest solid food.

Keep me from being jealous and full of strife, from acting as mere
human beings act - carnal!

Help me to understand the equality of all your servants, and not
to put one above another, or to claim special discipleship to any!

Help me to see that it is not a question of who waters and who
plants, for it is only you, God, who gives the increase.

In the name of Jesus. Amen.

<< Exodus 23 >> King James Version

<< Exodus 23 >>
King James Version
1Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. 2Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment: 3Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
4If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again. 5If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.

6Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause. 7Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

8And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

9Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

10And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: 11But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.

12Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed. 13And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

14Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year. 15Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) 16And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field. 17Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.

18Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.

19The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

20Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. 22But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. 23For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. 24Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. 25And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. 26There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. 27I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee. 28And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee. 29I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee. 30By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land. 31And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee. 32Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. 33They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

For I am persuaded,

Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

My prayer: Heavenly Father, I am so grateful for Your abundant love and grace. The strong hold You have on my life is incomprehensible! Thank You for the promise that nothing can separate me from Your love. Neither spiritual nor physical forces—nothing—will ever be remotely able to separate me from Your love, O God, which is found in Christ Jesus, Your Son. Continue to make me appreciative of such mercy.

STAY FOCUSED AND BLESSED,
JAN

Say among the heathen

Say among the heathen [that] the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. (Psalms 96:10)
The Lord will judge the people of the earth with all equity and justice. All men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and all men ought be judged unworthy (Romans 3:23). Fortunately though, you who are given faith in Christ are not judged for your works, for Christ has been judged in your place! Amen!

NO ROOM FOR BOASTING

NO ROOM FOR BOASTING

1 Corinthians 1:26-31

Dear Father, you of whom we boast,

Why have you chosen the weak, the foolish, the despised? You have
done this so that no human being can boast. And we do not! We cast
our lives at your feet. You alone are worthy!

You are the source of our lives in Christ Jesus, whom you made to
be everything to us. He is our wisdom and our righteousness. He is
our sanctification and our redemption.

Therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast of the
Lord" - and we do!

In the name of Jesus, by his wisdom and authority, I ask these
things. Amen.

The LORD hath

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. (Jeremiah 31:3)
My Prayer: O Lord, I am so undeserving of Your love! Thank You for drawing me to You and giving me Your gift of salvation! Thank You so much, Lord, for loving me with an everlasting love. Teach me, Lord, to love others the way You love me.

Once More on Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Once More on Jesus and the Holy Spirit The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD. (Isaiah 61:1-2) In this prophetic Scripture, we see the ministry of Christ is attributed to the work of the Holy Spirit (as noted before in the manifestation of His godly character). "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me." By the empowering of the Spirit, Jesus was sent forth to "preach good tidings to the poor." This refers to the gospel of salvation. "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages…preaching the gospel of the kingdom" (Matthew 9:35). This good news of salvation would be received by those who admitted their spiritual bankruptcy. "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3). Also, Jesus was sent forth to "heal the brokenhearted." The heart of man can be broken by so many things: condemnation, grief, failure, betrayal, and more. Jesus comforts and restores those who trust in Him. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). Additionally, Jesus was sent forth to "proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound." As with captive Israel of old, people today get into bondage to the world system. They become captivated by worldly thinking, bound by bad habits, and imprisoned by ungodly relationships. Jesus is the great liberator for all who cry out to Him and feed thereafter upon His inspired word. "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free…Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8:32, 36). Furthermore, Jesus was sent forth to "proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." Ultimately, this speaks of the entire age of grace, whereby lives are accepted by God through faith in His beloved Son and enriched by Christ with immeasurable spiritual riches. "God… has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ…to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved" (Ephesians 1:3, 6). We are also sent forth to minister. "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you" (John 20:21). As it was with Jesus, we can only fulfill our calling by the same Holy Spirit who empowered His ministry. Dear Father, please apply all of these ministries of the grace of Jesus to my life in fullness. Then, Father, would You empower me by Your Holy Spirit to go forth in the name of Jesus, offering these same realities to others who need them as well. I place my hope for effectiveness in the enabling anointing of the Spirit, Amen.

For whom the LORD

For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son [in whom] he delighteth. (Proverbs 3:12)
Because of His unconditional and passionate love for His children, God disciples and instructs His children in His wisdom. Indeed, it is by His unchanging and constant adoration that we are made a new creation. By the gift of God's son and a repentant heart, the mercies of Christ enfold us and bring us to God's side. Just as a father adores his son, so our Heavenly Father delights in us!

If any of you lack wisdom,

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5)
What an incredible promise! If we lack wisdom all we have to do is ask God and He promises to give it to us. He will not scold us for asking, for He gives it out freely!

My Prayer: Jesus, I am asking You, now, for Your wisdom. You have promised that you will freely give it and I trust in that promise!

Therefore I will look unto the LORD;

Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. (Micah 7:7)
Bolster your faith! Call out to the very Lord of the heavens for strength! He will surely hear you! Ask of Him a measure more of faith and He shall surely grant it. He is the Lord of all and delights in blessing His children with every good thing!

But ye [are] a chosen generation,

But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (1 Peter 2:9)
As Christians, we have the tremendous privilege to be called "God's own possession." Although we were once lost with no identity as a people, we have come to know the excellent mercies of God. He has brought us together as a holy nation, set apart for His glory. For we certainly have become property of the almighty King, that we may proclaim His goodness and righteousness to all people.

He shall send from heaven,

He shall send from heaven, and save me [from] the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. (Psalms 57:3)
The believer has three persistent enemies in this world: the devil, the wicked, and his own wicked nature. God has promised to deliver His people and trample their enemies. And so He shall! The devil's day is dawning—his time is soon come! The wicked shall be brought low and judged righteously for their lives of iniquity! And the Lord has already begun to tear the sin nature from the very being of His people! Praise God for His forbearance and His ultimate victory!

WAITING FOR REDEMPTION .

WAITING FOR REDEMPTION

Romans 8:26-27
http://www.BibleStudyTools.com/search/?query=Romans+8:26-27

Dear Father, who knows my secrets,

Help me to wait patiently for my redemption. Thank you for giving
me your Holy Spirit to make up for the inadequacies of my body and
spirit. I know not how to pray as I should, so I praise you for
your Spirit, who takes my inexpressible groanings and lifts them to
the Lord Jesus, thus sharing in his intercession for me.

I thank you that the Holy Spirit searches out the remotest cranny
of my heart, knows me in a way that I cannot even know myself, and
expresses to you what I wish that I could say but cannot. How
wonderful! How loving!

Thank you, Lord, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Hallelujah.
Amen. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you again!

In the name of Jesus and with the support of your Spirit I come to
you, with gratitude for doing these things. Amen.

But unto you that fear

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (Malachi 4:2)
Rejoice in the sun's warming rays and remember the comforting power of the Lord of Hosts. Rapture in the healing regeneration of the Son and revel in His effective resurrection. Skip and dance, O son of redemption, and find your joy in the way of righteousness!

But if

But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find [him], if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29)
If we seek God, it is promised that we shall find Him. How wondrous then that it is God who makes us to be seekers of Him! In His beautiful supremacy over the history of His redemptive purpose, God has ignited in each of His chosen people, a divine and unquenchable spark of desire to know Him. So rest, O believer, assured in the fact that you love God because He first loved you—and because of His love for you, He will in nowise cast you out!

GROWING IN GOD'S GRACE

Growing in the Grace of God
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:18)
Let's reflect upon some of the heavenly territory we have explored thus far. Grace is for spiritual growth and progress in the Lord. It is not intended only for birthing and starting out with the Lord. "But grow in the grace…of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." Growth in Christ always results as God's grace works in us.

At times, we can be apprehensive about such an emphasis upon God's grace. We become concerned that irresponsibility, ungodliness, laziness, or indulgence will result. We can rest assured on the promises and purposes of God that true grace does not produce such consequences. Ungodly living always involves the flesh of man, which is inclined toward licentiousness and legalism.

Licentiousness hopes to turn grace into a means by which sinful indulgence is acceptable. "For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness" (Jude v.4). Legalism aspires to add religious performance to grace, thereby appealing to the self-righteous hopes of man. "Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?" (Galatians 3:2-3).

When a person truly lives by the grace of God, righteousness results, not ungodliness. As a person increasingly learns to draw upon God's grace for daily living, Christlikeness develops, not worldliness. As grace becomes our resource for life, sin diminishes; it does not increase. "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under law but under grace" (Romans 6:14).

The temptation is to rely upon the law of God in order to generate godliness. The demand of the law to be holy, loving, and perfect becomes a false security to our flesh. We think that by hearing, repeating, or striving to meet this demand, we can thereby accomplish it. Let us not forget that "the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope" (Hebrews 7:18-19). God's grace is the "better hope" that does not fail to bring forth what God desires.

The Lord has ordained for us a life-long involvement with His grace. He wants to work "grace for [upon] grace" (John 1:16) for the rest of our days. This is the "new and living way" (Hebrews 10:20). Perhaps this could all be summarized in another acronym on grace: "Glorious Realities As Christ Empowers.

Gracious Father, how bountiful is Your provision for my spiritual growth. How foolish of me to think that I need more for developing in godliness than Your grace supplies. O Lord, I long to grow in the image of Christ. I beseech You, remind me and convince me that Your grace is the only sufficient hope. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

For we are labourers .

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, [ye are] God's building. (1 Corinthians 3:9)
Once we have devoted our lives to Christ, we become a working part to further the kingdom of God. We are His field that He cultivates as we produce fruits for His glory. We are the structure of His building as He resides in our hearts. Yet, we are only His field and building by the grace of God. The triumph of Christ over death allows us to be used to His glory. After all, to be used of Christ is one of the greatest blessings in the Christian life.

THE RIGHTEOUS REIGN OF GRACE

THE RIGHTEOUS REIGN OF GRACE

Romans 5:18-24
http://www.BibleStudyTools.com/search/?query=Romans+5:18-24

Dear Father, bestower of eternal life,

How amazing that, even though one man's disobedience leads to
condemnation, the obedience of Jesus acquits us, makes us righteous
and leads to life!

Thank you that, whereas law increased the trespass, your grace
abounded all the more! Sin reigned in death, but your grace reigned
through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

Thank you, Father in heaven. Thank you, thank you, thank you! In
the name of Jesus, our Savior and Justifier, I offer this thanks
and praise for your wonderful grace. Amen.

I will lift up mine eyes

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. (Psalms 121:1-2)
From the high places that surround us come every foe and bandit, seeking to destroy us and make of nothing our faith. How can we stand against such villainy? Where are we to turn for aid in the spiritual war in which all the children of God are engaged? Turn to the Lord. He is your help. The creator of heaven and earth who holds power over every living thing will protect His child from every spiritual harm. Take comfort and love Christ.

Every good gift .

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17)
Absolutely every good thing comes from our Father who tends to all our needs according to His purpose. Amazingly, our gracious Father never changes, but remains the same through all eternity. May we continue to give thanks to Him who pours forth His love and peace to all who believe.

JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH

JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH
Dear Father, just and justifier, All praise is due you, Father. Our boasting is totally excluded. Our justification is not by our works, but through our faith in you. So we are convinced by Paul that a person is justified by faith and not by works of the law. You are God not only of the Jews but of all other nations also. You are the one God, the only God, the God of all people everywhere. On the basis of whether people put their trust in you instead of themselves you justify people from every nation and race. What a wonderful God! Thank you for putting faith in my heart and accepting me. In the name of Jesus we ask all this and lay claim to the grace which you have so generously extended. Amen.

NONE RIGHTEOUS

NONE RIGHTEOUS

Romans 2:25-3:20
0

Dear Father, holy God,

Allow me to bear the marks of your covenant in my heart and my
mind. May I be a spiritual descendant of Abraham. Let my praise be
not from men but from you!

Help me understand that all human beings are under the power of
sin, as it is written, "None is righteous, no not one!"

I ask forgiveness for all my sins by reason of your perfect
expiation put forth in Christ Jesus. Clothe me with his
righteousness, not my own. Having nothing to claim for myself, I
put my trust in him.

In the name of Jesus, the all-sufficient sacrifice for sin and my
holy intercessor, I pray. Amen.

He will

He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. (Psalms 145:19)
Fear the Lord and seek Him on His heavenly throne and you will be given the desires of your heart. So fervent is the believer's desire to see God and please Him that God is well pleased to fulfil this desire. These that seek God shall see Him! This is incredible! This is amazing! There is no reason that man in his shabby and sinful existence has any right to expect God to reveal Himself. Yet God has given His children surpassing desire to see Him and He in mercy will show Himself to His children! Glory!

For we are made .

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; (Hebrews 3:14)
Here we have an encouragement to keep on walking the walk. God will help us to persevere. He would never give us something that we cannot do through Him. As partakers of Christ, we have the privilege of having Christ's righteousness put on us. Then God sees Christ's righteousness instead of our sin. We are allowed this privilege if we persevere in the practice and proclamation of Christianity.

Peace I leave with you,.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
What a breath of fresh air! As Christians, we have the privilege to partake of the beautiful peace through the love of our merciful God. Praise Him! Christ has conquered sin and death! Indeed, let not our hearts be troubled, but let us take joy in the glory of Christ.

Recommit

For those of us who are lost, backslidden, feeling separated from The Lord or who have never committed ourselves and for those of us who simply want to recommit ourselves to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour . Let us do it here and now and rededicate ourselves to The Will and The Way of God........
"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life"
"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."
Psalm 51
1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
