The LORD [is]

The LORD [is] the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. (Psalm 16:5)
With the Lord being our portion and our cup, He becomes our sufficiency in both food and drink. The reference of the "lot" may either speak of the land that was granted or even how God is in control of everything-even our destiny. We also have the promise of a heavenly lot which Jesus talks about in John 14:2.

Which executeth judgment

Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners: (Psalm 146:7)
Whether oppressed, hungry, or a imprisoned, God will take care of His child. If it oppression that we are suffering, then we will be upheld by God. If we are plagued with hunger, then God will provide spiritual food for our souls. If we are bound, then we will be liberated from our sins. Truly, we are given tremendous freedom by God's love and grace!

And thine ears

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. (Isaiah 30:21)
My Prayer: Father, I am so grateful for all Your splendid majesty and mercy! Thank You for dying on the cross and suffering my consequences. Yet more than anything, thank You for conquering death that I may be with you forever and ever! Help me to keep focused on You. May I never look right or left, but continue to faithfully walk on Your holy path. Continue to guide me in all my ways!

And being made

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (Hebrews 5:9)
Once Christ obtained His human perfection, He became the source of eternal life. Eternal life is given to those who obediently accept the gift given to them by God.

And this is

And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:39-40)
God has promised us that Jesus will not forsake anyone that God has given Him. God has given us to Jesus, we are His prized possession and Satan will not be able to snatch any of us from His grasp. We have been granted eternal life in heaven with God! Praise the Lord! Exalt His name for He is full of grace and mercy!

And I will sow

And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to [them which were] not my people, Thou [art] my people; and they shall say, [Thou art] my God. (Hosea 2:23)
When once dead to all the things of life and love and godliness, the Lord, in His unfathomable mercy, wrested us from our bed of dust and ash and breathed His spirit of new life into us! We were not His people. We were not His children. We were, in spite of His holy righteousness, the very enemies of His hand. How gracious is He to have awakened His foemen to risen life as His own servants! We are His people! We are His children! Rejoice, O believer! Rejoice in your Lord of mercy and kindness.

Wherefore seeing we

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
We have so many 'witnesses' that have gone on before us. So many men and women of faith (Hebrews 11) that are the examples the Lord has given us to follow. We are to lay aside every weight. Now, what are these weights? They are the things that bring about stress and worries. They are the things Jesus wants to carry for us! We also need to lay aside our sin. Sin is inevitable. Even the lives of the very witnesses spoken of in Hebrews 11 are fraught with sins and the remorse of sin! Even though we cannot be perfect of ourselves, we must lay aside our wants and desires and choose to follow the Lord (Romans 6:15). This is a hard thing to do, but we must run with patience.

He that believeth

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet [given]; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:38-39)
God's children are bound to pour forth rivers of the water of life. In the wilderness, Moses brought forth water from a rock. Paul says that rock was symbolic of Christ. Just as Christ, the rock of our foundation, pours forth the water of life, so too shall we as His bride pour forth the same water! And this water is the very Spirit of God, who moves among men as He wills to forward the kingdom of heaven. Amen.

He that hath

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)
All God's children will be ever known as the conquerors of death. By the life and resurrection of Christ, they are made alive evermore. The new vitality granted by God cannot be vanquished and those who have taken its hold shall overcome forever! Therefore, they shall all inherit their right to life everlasting and to the very symbol of that life, first seen in the garden of paradise—the very tree of life! So to he who hears, listen well: pick up your cross and follow the Blood by the power of the Blood.

For by grace

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We are saved through the grace of God and only the grace of God. There is no other way for us to get to heaven. If we think the good we do will earn us a hope in heaven, then we shall be deeply dismayed when Jesus says, "Depart from me, I never knew you." Let us not take pride in ourselves in thinking that our works will get us into heaven. Let us rather praise the Lord for His marvelous grace!

He that believeth

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)
Blessed are you who believe, for never shall your soul perish! Life is yours—and the power of life today and always! God gifts His people with the vivacious resurrection of His Son! Rejoice in your life eternal! Praise Him with your new life and please Him with your days!

And such were

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:11)
Our lives prior to our personal redemption consisted of various backgrounds—some of which were very carnal (see the list in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Yet as Christians, those are now things of the past and should no longer control us. We have been washed! When we became Christians, we were cleansed of our sins. Sanctification is the process of setting us apart for God and growing in righteousness. Lastly, we were justified because of Christ's work and atonement. Our destination is not eternal bondage of sin and grief, but by the grace of God, we have a heavenly destination! A place of eternal joy and everlasting peace!

I am crucified

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
When we accepted Christ, our sinful nature was crucified upon the cross and Christ became our life. Our life here on earth has changed; we no longer have sinful goals. Instead, we desire to further the kingdom of Christ.

My Prayer: I praise You, Lord, for the awesome God that You are! Thank You for Your wonderful salvation! Continue to change my heart and make me more like You.

But of him

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1 Corinthians 1:30)
God is the one who chose us from the foundation of the world. He chose us as the foolish things of the world so that, in Christ, His wisdom would be declared. Christ has become our divine wisdom, which is our righteousness, holiness, and our redemption. Though we might be of little value in the world's eyes, we are of the vastest worth in God's eyes-for it was Christ Himself who gave His life to redeem us.
